This is a wastewater collection system update and replacement project at Colony Cove in Ellenton, Florida. Colony Cove is a 55+ retirement mobile home community. The project will take place within Colony Cove South’s neighborhood only. The updated wastewater collection system will allow current and future residents to reliably connect to Manatee County’s wastewater collection system.
Both a gravity main and a force main are pipeline systems designed to convey wastewater between two points. While a gravity main system allows wastewater to flow using the natural force of gravity, a force main system requires a mechanical pump or compressors to create pressure which then pushes the wastewater to its destination. These pumps or compressors are located within lift stations that are positioned along the pipeline system.
The project is located on US 301 between Colony Cove South and Ridgewood Lane.
The cost is to be determined.
The project is funded by Manatee County.
Woodruff & Sons Inc. is the contractor for the project.
Construction activities will primarily occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional work on Saturdays, if needed.
Construction activities that require temporary road closures and/or detours will be clearly marked by signage to assist motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists navigating through and around the construction areas. In some cases, flagmen will be present to direct traffic. Temporary road closures and detour information will also be posted on the project website, www.ColonyCoveEllentonRepipe.com, and distributed as Alerts to those who register to receive them. In some cases, notifications will be distributed door-to-door to property owners. Notifications will also be provided to the property manager.
Interruption of water service is not anticipated but if a situation arises that requires a temporary water interruption, proper notification will be provided in advance to property owners through door hanger notifications or other means of communication. Information will also be posted on the project website.
The contractor will make every effort to maintain access to mailboxes throughout the duration of the construction project. If you are experiencing issues with mail delivery, please contact the project phone line at 941-281-4150 or email [email protected].
The contractor will make every effort to avoid impacts to garbage and recycling operations throughout the duration of the construction project. If you are experiencing issues with garbage or recycling pick-up, please contact the project phone line at 941-281-4150 or email [email protected] for assistance.
Once construction begins, notifications of planned activities and associated impacts will be provided to stakeholders located within the affected area via written, email and/or in-person notification(s). Updated project information is also available on the project website.
